Beauty Over-Haul

Firstly I would just like to apologise for not blogging for a while. I have been here there and everywhere with work and weekends away, but I am back and ready to blog! I haven't done a beauty piece for a while so I wanted to share some fab new make-up with you. One of the benefits of working for a cosmetics company is of course getting to use all these brilliant new products. Avon have launched some brand new make-up which is exactly the same colour on the skin as it is on the packaging - so what you see is what you get!

These are all the great new products I got to try out. The lip crayons are AMAZING and I will definitely be ordering more of these! They come out exactly the same colour as on the packaging and last a good amount of time.

Tye-Dye For

I love tye-dye clothing, it reminds me of the 70's and makes me instantly think I'm cool. Obvs I wasn't around in the 70s but if I was I would have rocked tye-dye. I'm a massive fan of Missguided and usually order something new every week. This t-shirt dress is one of my latest purchases and I freaking love it. The turquoise in it makes it look bright and summery and I'll be wearing this to my next festival!  I teamed it with a hat and some boots but to be honest it looks great with anything! You can also wear it with a head band and sandals to give it a great summery look. It was raining in a few of these photos so the hat came in extremely handy to avoid frizzy hair.

Steal her Style - Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo has to be one of my biggest style icons ever. Even when she first appeared on 'The Hill's' and I was completely team Whitney, I still always liked to see what she was wearing. Not only is she gorgeous but her style always looks amazing. Ok so I'm extremely jelous of her, but I'm sure I'll get past that one day, and if not, I'll just steal her style instead. I'm going to do a cheaper version of 'steal her style' because Olivia mainly shops at places like Chloe and Dolce & Gabbana and recently wore a shirt that was over £1000. I wish I had £1000 to spend on a shirt.

Steal Her Style - Pixie Lott

I have always loved Pixie Lott's style, why? because she always looks fab! As I can't steal her legs - I thought I could steal her style instead. Pixie has quite a boho style always looking cool and quirky. As it's supposed to be Summer I thought her style would be perfect for festival season as you can wear these whatever the weather! If it's cold and raining you can team the shorts and dresses with some long socks and wellies, or if it's sunny we can rock our festival clothes without getting wet! I love how she is known for wearing headbands and I agree that a headband can go with any outfit... I have 100s of them!

Missguided Maxi Dress

As soon as I seen this dress on Missguided I knew I had to have it. I love maxi dresses as it is, but I knew this one was special when I started having dreams about it. Despite the new rule from my boyfriend which was 'no more clothes' I had to make an exception. My plan was to just pretend I'd had it for ages and that he just never notices what I'm wearing. The plan was going swimmingly well until he noticed the label hanging out the back. Busted. Anyway it was worth all the aggro as I LOVE this dress and in the end so did my boyfriend! It is absolutely perfect for the weather at the moment as it can't quite make its mind up if it wants to be hot/cold/wet/dry. I wore the dress this week when it was nice and hot for about 10 mins until the clouds came and took over. It means you don't have to mess about putting a jacket on, off, on, off all day and can still look stylish.

Double Denim

If you watch The Voice then you will know how much Jessie J despises double denim. It's even like she has a sixth sense and can tell when they are wearing it even when her backs facing them. Danny on the other hand seems to wear it as much as possible as he thinks he looks cool. I have a denim jacket that I love and I have some denim shorts that I love. So I had a major dilemma the other day when I wanted to wear them both but knew that the rule is supposed to be only wear one or the other. So what did I do? I wore them both of course.

Nail Art

I may be being a little bias here, but as I work for Avon Cosmetics obviously I'm going to use their products. I wanted to share one of my faves that is a new product from Avon which is fab! This is a great buy which looks great without having to break the bank balance. I love playing with my nails, I'm constantly painting them different colours, playing with my gel nail set and applying all different designs. So when these new Decals hit the brochure I knew I had to order them.

I've seen Decals in Boots before but I have to say I don't think the designs were as good as Avons and they were double the price! All you have to do is peel the nail strip off and apply it to your nail. Easy as that! Any strip that is left hanging over your nail, all you need to do is file it away and then shape it to your nail. You may want to use a nail tool to smooth out the nail strip as it can be a bit bumpy at first, I just used my finger to smooth it out but you may get better results with a nail tool. A tip for making the Decals last that little bit longer; try adding a top coat of clear nail varnish. This will give them a shiny finish as well as making them a little bit stronger, so if you're like me and used to washing up most days it should stop them from peeling off.

The nail strips are aimed to last for about 2 weeks so are great for a holiday... mine are in my suitcase already! There are 10 different designs that you can choose from and they are just £4 each. The Decals will be hitting the Brochure in a months time so you can either order through a representative or from here

British Soap Awards

I love watching awards like this, not just to see all the hunky men, but also to see what everyone is wearing and to compare outfits. I also get a little bit competitive and take these things far to seriously forgetting that soaps aren't real life. I absolutely love that Hollyoaks won 5 awards, it's about time it was recognised for being a great soap! It doesn't take itself to seriously but at the same time has some strong storylines.

List of winners:

Sexiest Male - Danny Mac, Hollyoaks (I voted as he is HOTTT)
Sexiest Female - Michelle Keegan, Coronation Street (Obvs)
Villain of the Year - Natalie Gumede, Coronation Street
Best Actor - Alan Halsall, Coronation Street
Best Actress - Claire Cooper , Hollyoaks (Yes!!)
Best British Soap - Coronation Street (Thought Doctors may have won this, lolz)
Best Comedy Performance - Patti Clare, Coronation Street
Best Dramatic Performance - Natalie Gumede, Coronation Street
Best young Performance - Eden Taylor-Draper, Emmerdale (A little fact for you, as the soap awards weren't shown live, on her first go she fell down the stairs so they re-filmed her winning and then aired that scene instead)
Best Exit - Nigel Havers, Coronation Street
Best Newcomer - Joseph Thompson, Hollyoaks (Woop Hollyoaks!)
Best On-Screen Partnership - Kieron Richardson and Emmett J Scanlan, Hollyoaks (SO happy they won this)
Best Storyline - Kirsty's Abuse of Tyrone, Coronation Street (Would have loved for the bullying storyline to get some recognition for that, it happens far to often)
Spectacular Scene of the Year - The Bus Crash, Hollyoaks (The car door hitting Maddie had to be the best thing about this scene!)
Best Single Episode - Emmerdale 40th anniversary live episode (Better than the TOWIE live episode)
Lifetime Achievement Award - Adam Woodyatt, Eastenders

Here's a few that have made my best dressed list:

Moving Clothes

This past week I have had a traumatising time. Why? Because I have had to change wardrobes. Any female who has A LOT of clothes will be feeling my pain. It has been so stressful that it has made me wish I was one of the ladies from Made In Chelsea, because they are so rich they would just have someone do it for them. Plus they probably own about 20 wardrobes so don't actually have to worry about piling as many tops as possible on 1 coat hanger. My boyfriend just can't seem to understand that even though a lot of my dresses look the same, it doesn't mean they are the same. No I cannot just keep 1 of the dresses and throw the other 10 similar ones away, because every single dress goes with a different pair of shoes, and every single pair of shoes goes with a different jacket. Duh. They just don't get it.

So anyway, after hours and hours, and hours of going through 6 boxes of clothes, a box of coats, 3 boxes of accessories and 2 boxes of shoes I think I'm finally there! I'm so there that I've actually managed to let most of my clothes have their own coat hanger. Whey! There's also a 'secret basket' hiding at the bottom of the wardrobe that my boyfriend 'thinks' has gone to charity. At one point he asked 'do you really need those shorts that you brought 3 years ago and have never worn', he's joking right? Of course I need them. On the plus side I've managed to sort through what I do wear and will now be able to blog about some outfits.... so watch out for some fashion blogs coming soon!

Chi Chi Competition

I've seen this competition been launched and I had to enter. I'd never heard of Chi Chi before but I am SO glad I have now discovered them. They are currently holding a competition for all bloggers to win £200 to spend on their amazing clothes. All you need to do is create a Chi Chi wishlist and post it on your blog. Easy! All the information is here but you don't have long as it closes today!
After wanting to order the whole website I finally managed to narrow it down to create my wishlist. If I could have I would have used the whole website, a girl can never have to many clothes right? I'm a firm believer that every girl should own a bodycon as you can never go wrong in them. I used to think a bodycon was actually a leotard, so thank goodness I realised it was in fact a dress before I went out on a Saturday night dressed like I was auditioning for Fame. That would have been awkward. Here below are two of my favourite bodycon/bandage dresses for my wishlist.

I also believe you can't go wrong in maxi dresses. I've chose these gorgeous maxi dresses below as they are freakin awesome and look amazing! I've got a few weddings and events coming up this year and these would be absolutely perfect!

My final 2 are these lovely dresses. I like to dress up like every girl does and I feel that these dresses would make me feel all girlie and summery. I like to hit the town with my friends and could also wear these dresses to pull out some moves on the dance floor.

So thats my wishlist! :)

A Bit Of Fake Tan

It's no secret that I'm a fake tan hoarder. Once I buy one, whether I use it or not, I just can't bring myself to throw it away. I wanted to share a few of my favourites because if you're like me and fake tan every week, it's always handy to know which ones are good and which ones aren't. It's safe to say I've tried a lot of different fake tans. Some have left me looking like I've spent a week on the beach and some have left me looking like an Oompa Loompa. I only wish I'd discovered fake tan when I was 13, pretty sure it would have made some of my school photos look a little more glamorous and a little less traumatising. If only TOWIE & Geordie Shore were around in those days then I maybe would have realised sooner how necessary fake tan is.

I recently discovered a brand called Vita Liberata and I love it! They have so many different ranges its brilliant! They've got light, medium, dark, extra dark, gradual, instant etc etc. My favourite is the Phenomenal Mousse as it stays on for 2 - 3 weeks, you do have to keep on top of it though to make the colour last, make sure you moisturise and use a good scrub. Another great one is the Tinted Self Tan Mousse which lasts a good 5 days or so. I went for the medium colour and it gave me a great golden glow and didn't make me look orange. It also didn't make me smell like a bit of burnt toast. It can be quite pricey but it is definitely worth the cost. It's also Binky from MIC's favourite tan... and I can see why! Check out their range here http://www.vitaliberata.co.uk/ and I guarantee you will love it just as much as me.

My favourite instant tan has to be L'oreal Sublime Bronze. It's a lovely natural colour that makes you look like you've just stepped off a beach. One of the great things about it, is that it lasts for a few days after first applying so you can keep that glow going for a few days. Make sure you apply the mousse to a tanning mitt first, otherwise it can look streaky and you'll end up with orange hands!

Sally Henson Airbrush Legs and the Garnier Ambre Solaire are great sprays for summer. The Sally Henson is a bit like make up for legs rather than fake tan but it gives that airbrush finish which makes legs look smooth and even. The Garnier spray is great for hands and feet as it doesn't go patchy around dry skin and stays on for a long time.

Those are a few of my favourite picks, what are yours?

Spring Trends

Apparently it's Spring. Usually I get excited around this time of year as it means lighter days, nicer weather and you're able to leave the house without scarf, gloves, hat & wellies. However, the recent snowman in my garden and the -2 degrees doesn't exactly scream 'Spring'. I've decided to put some Spring trends on anyway as whatever the weather, we always like an excuse to buy more clothes!

Neon blazers are coming back into fashion this season and with the weather still being a bit chilly it's perfect timing! You can team the blazers with any colours, you could go for an all coloured outfit or you can simply team it with something black to brighten up the look. This weekend my outfit is a black jumpsuit with a neon blazer. You can either team them with neon coloured shoes to make it brighter, or with just some black shoes for a sophisticated look. I'm a massive fan of rings and own about 100, so I'd add a few rings and jewellery to accessorise. As all these things are currently in fashion you can buy them from anywhere. Primark and New Look have a great selection of blazers and jewellery and they're brilliant for not breaking the bank balance!

Let's hope the snow stays away long enough for us to pull off the neon look!

We can also add some great bright nail varnish to the look. I use a range called China Glaze which are known for their brilliant bright colours. I tend to find the more coats you apply the better the colour shows up. The nail varnish dries so quick which makes it easy to add lots of coats without it going all clumpy. In the picture below I have a colour on called Shocking Neon Pink. You can buy this range from Amazon, Ebay and even from some beauty shops. They sell for all different prices on Ebay but usually start from about £6. What's great about China Glaze is they can also be used for gel nails, so will stay on for even longer!

Avon Anew Vitale

My boyfriend is always telling me how I'm constantly frowning. Usually it's because he's done something wrong, said something wrong or hasn't noticed my new hair. Either way I now have frown lines appearing that never used to be there. Anew Vitale is perfect for this as I can target the area before it's fully visible. The moisturiser is fantastic and made my skin look revitalised straight away, after only using it for 14 days it has already made a massive difference.

The Vitale range is aimed at fine wrinkles so we can tackle them before they take over! I used the cleanser to help take my make up off and also used the day and night cream. The great thing about the day cream is it also has SP25 which is a huge bonus. So as well as looking 21 again, I also have smooth protected skin!
The pink and white packaging makes it look even more appealing and the 14 day system is an ideal size to carry round and show your friends. They'll all be wanting a bit after seeing the new you!

You can order the Vitale 14 Day System in C7 for just £13 or you can order 3 Anew creams for £20 in C8…. Grab yourself a bargain. You will not be disappointed!

A Few travels

I watched a programme on Hong Kong the other day and it reminded me of when I was lucky enough to go in 2011. It is an amazing place with breathtaking views and I would definitely go back. The only thing I wasn't massively keen on was the food, I'd assumed it would just be like eating Chinese food every night... but it wasn't! One of the strangest dishes we got served was shark soup! I couldn't bring myself to eat it though. Hong Kong has the tallest buildings I have ever seen in my whole life.... whoever works on the top floor of those buildings clearly aren't afraid of heights. We got to go to Hong Kong horse races at night which was brilliant and we also got a tram to the top of a mountain and got a view of the whole Island.

I then went on to travel around Bali and loved seeing all the sights around the Island. Bali is a very religious place and we got to see a lot of the locals doing the Balinese dance which are usually connected to Hindu rituals. Here's a few pictures from the travels, I couldn't share them all as there's about 500!

Iphone 5

I have FINALLY been able to upgrade my phone and get an iPhone 5. My boyfriend got to upgrade his before mine and had been rubbing it in ever since he’d had one, I am so glad that he no longer has the upper hand! I have to say though it was definitely worth the wait. I wasn’t to sure when it first came out, especially as I’m extremely clumsy and my main worry was dropping it and breaking it within seconds, luckily this has yet to happen (touch wood). The iPhone 5 is much faster and the picture is so much better quality, it’s so clear! I love playing with Siri and the camera on it is amazing, the bigger screen makes you feel like your using a mini computer. If anyone is unsure about whether to get the new iPhone I would definitely recommend it, especially if you love playing with new technology like me!
Im pretty sure by 2015 I’ll own as much apple products as possible….. better start saving!

Mr Selfridge

Love love love this programme! If you haven’t watched it yet you are definitely missing out on one of the juiciest dramas on TV at the moment. It is about Mr Selfridge himself and how he managed to develop one of the biggest department stores ever. It is set in 1909 which means we also get to discover what the fashion and rules were like back then, i.e dating someone who you worked with was a massive no no. It also shows how London was back in the 1900′s and wow has it changed! The main characters are highly likeable and make this programme great to watch. I don’t know about you but I love Selfridges! So seeing how it developed over time is extremely interesting to watch.
Selfridges was the first store ever to sell make up and perfume over the counter. Before then, women used to pretend that they naturally looked flawless and smelt great. When Mr Selfridge decided to sell products over the counter it shocked people all over the country as it was a way of showing that women weren’t always au naturel. Nowadays the shops are full of make up, perfumes and fake tan, I think its safe to say times have definitely changed!
You can catch Mr Selfridge on Sundays ITV at 9pm.

The Impossible

Recently I went to see the film ‘The Impossible’. What an amazing film. For anyone who doesn’t know, The Impossible is about the 2004 Tsunami that hit east Asia. The film was set in Thailand and followed a family on their true story of events that happened on that awful day. Their story is unbelievable and emotional!
In 2011 I went to Thailand and visited some Islands where the Tsunami hit and seeing those sites were breathtaking. There are before and after photos everywhere on the Island and the work they have done to repair the damage is incredible. This picture below is on top of Phi Phi overlooking most of the Island, at one point this was completely under water, and look at it now! To get to this point of the Island we had to walk up about 20 million steps (no exaggeration) in 40 degree heat. If I’d have known I was doing that I probably would have gone gym before I went to Thailand, as it was probably one of the most challenging days of my life. However, once I’d got there without passing out and saw the amazing sights of the Island, it was worth every second!
If anyone hasn’t seen this film I definitely recommend it, this families story of survival and bravery is definitely worth a watch plus it shows just how awful and devastating the Tsunami was.
