Avon's Gel Nails

Anyone else got a gel nail kit that they've no idea how to use? Or is it just me? Don't get me wrong I love the machine and it made a great Birthday present (thanks mum). However, all I've done so far is manage to use it as a tanning bed for my hands. So as you can imagine, I was jumping for joy when Avon revealed they would be releasing their own range of gel finish nail wear, and you don't even need to use a machine! Wahoo!

The colour I have on below is called Very Berry. The shine that comes off these nail varnishes makes your nails look like you've just had them professionally gelled. They are a base coat, colour, shine and top coat all in one. What's even better is they dry in minutes, they come off with normal nail varnish remover AND they are currently only £3.50! Bargain!

Raymond Blancs - LeManoir

Oh.Em.Gee. A couple of weekends a go I had possibly the best food I have ever had in my life. 2 weeks later and I'm still wishing I was there. My boyfriend, his family and I visited Raymond Blancs restaurant LeManoir in Oxford. It was for my boyfriends mums 50th and from start to finish the experience was amazing. The restaurant itself is just a spectacular thing to see (as you can see from the photos below). When we first arrived we were shown to a gorgeous lounge on some sofas in front of the fire, with cocktails and the tastiest canapes ever! After we had finished these we were taken through to the restaurant which was obviously laid out to perfection.

We all decided to try the 7 course taster menu, every single course was presented perfectly and tasted like little bits of heaven. I apologise for the lack of photos, I'd gone in there thinking I was going to take a photo of every course, but I got so info the food that after a couple of photos I completely forgot! The service was on another level and every member of staff made you feel extremely special.

Working with the Met Office

Last year I was extremely lucky and was selected to do some freelance blogging for the Met Office over the Summer. This was a fantastic opportunity and it definitely made me realise my passion and excitement for blogging. It was a risk on the Met Office's behalf, we all know they are the 'Weather People' so for them to start blogging about fashion was a completely new path. However, it paid off and I will be eternally grateful for the opportunity.

The stats over last Summer were:

The web pages achieved a total of 111,511 views (between 02/07/13 - 19/09/13)
Social media figures
  • Reach of over 2 million for the #loveukweather hashtag  - helped reach new social media audience through retweets from partners such as New Look, Boohoo, Visit England etc
  • Over 1000 social media interactions with our posts about Get Ready for Summer (likes/retweets etc)
  • Over 100 user submitted photos of UK summer weather
  • Facebook – total views of grfs posts = 60,000. Most popular was extreme weather videos with 12,500 views. Age range = 29% 25- 44

Company Blogging Forum

The Blogging events are getting back into full swing this season so I wanted to share some photos from Company's Blogging Event that I attended last year. If anyone is thinking about attending a blogging event I would definiately recommend it. I got to meet fellow bloggers, learnt some great tips and even got some freebies!
