Avon Autumn Beauty Faves

I know I'm not alone when I say that autumn is one of my fave seasons. It's a chance to wear darker lipsticks, buy trendy coats, get a new hair colour, purchase some new boots and just an overall excuse to have a good spend. Something about oogling over new season trends just gets me all excited!

The first step in my autumn haul has been to refresh my make-up. There's nothing quite as comforting as buying new make-up, experimenting with new colours and using new, clean make-up brushes! (Unless I'm just making up excuses to buy new stuff?). One of the best things this year has to be all the autumn sales. I haven't quite seen so many discounts and sales happen at this time of year before, which makes a new face haul all that much easier!

Anyway my new autumnal faves are actually all from Avon. I have been using these products every single day during October and I'm still obsessed with them. Apparently you don't need to spend a fortune for decent make-up! Who knew?!

Zoella lifestyle

I'm sure by now you've all heard that Zoella recently launched her Lifestyle range (If you didn't know this then where have you been?!). The products are absolutely stunning and as soon as I set my eyes on the range, I wanted them all!

There's so much choice and it was tough picking just a few to purchase! It ranges from notepads to candles, from socks to backpacks, plus lots more. I bought my finds from Boots and I'll let you into a secret - they'll be featuring the Zoella Lifestyle range in their fabulous Christmas 3 for 2 offers!! Amazing!

I've been feeling slightly disorganised lately, so I decided to go for a few stationary items to make my life that little bit more organised!

Do whatever the hell you want

If you hadn't noticed, my last few posts have all been about visiting places and getting out there and just doing things. Whether it's by taking part in an activity, or just visiting a different town, I've tried to get out and about as much as I could. After what I would call a few turbulent/shit months, I wanted to do as many adventures as possible to just get my mind off things and to remember that if I want to go and do something then I can.

I've always loved adventure, ever since I was little and my dad dragged me on my first roller coaster. I cried my eyes out beforehand, but once it was over I just wanted to go on again and again, ever since then I've loved that adrenaline feeling.

Aqua Park Adventure

When my friend at work asked if I fancied doing an aqua inflatable obstacle course I jumped at the chance. I love anything activity based so I knew this would be so much fun. The day I agreed to take part, it was a lovely sunny day, so when we booked it I kind of forgot that actually we live in England and there's a good chance it won't be a lovely sunny day on the actual day of the event...

The day came and obviously it was a pretty cold day. I suffer from blue lips syndrome, so whenever I'm cold everyone immediately knows it because it looks like I'm wearing bright blue lipstick! However, once I got into my wet suit and thew myself into the activity, I soon warmed up!

Re-living my childhood

Last week my Mum messaged me and asked me if I fancied going to the zoo. At the time I thought it was a little random as I hadn't visited the zoo since I was about 11 years old, but as I started talking to more and more people, I found out that actually adults visit the zoo too!

We decided to go to Whipsnade after my mum had watched a TV documentary about the zoo and she'd loved it that much, that it had made her want to visit!

I admit it, I actually loved it! It's SO much bigger than I realised and we didn't even get time to visit all the different areas. We're already planning on going back so that we get to see all the animals! I think my favourites had to be the Elephants, Tigers and Lions. I'm in love with big animals (my obsession for Dinosaurs is a bit odd) so seeing these beautiful creatures up close and personal was a fab experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone - kids and adults!

You can find out about Whipsnade here

Visiting Cambridge

One of the places I've always wanted to visit has been Cambridge. I've been determined to go there ever since I heard of people drinking prosecco while punting, having picnics by the river, and of course seeing the beautiful buildings and surroundings. Well on Tuesday I finally decided to go and visit and it definitely did not disappoint. As soon as I arrived I fell in love with the place!

I've had a bit of a difficult couple of months recently, which I'll explain at a later date, so having a day away to take my mind off everything was exactly what I needed. Sometimes even just taking 1 day away for a bit of timeout makes a whole lot of difference.

I went with my sister and it was the perfect girls day out. We drank prosecco, went punting, had lunch by the river, did some sight seeing and even climbed over 300 stairs to the top of a tower!

Pretty Muddy Obstacle Run

Last Saturday I took part in my very first Pretty Muddy event. Every year I like to take part in a Race for Life event or at least contribute to a charity fundraiser. I've done the Race for Life 5k a couple of times, and after improving my fitness this year, I wanted to do something that pushed me a little more. I contemplated running the 10k, but while scrolling through Facebook one day I saw an event called Pretty Muddy, and after reading the first few lines I was sold! I just thought it looked SO much fun and I knew I had to be involved. I rallied a team of troops and we threw ourselves into training.

If you aren't sure what Pretty Muddy consists of, it's a 5k obstacle run and is made up of several obstacles for you to overcome. The obstacles consist of things like climbing over ropes, pulling yourselves through nets, running through high muddy water and going down a slide into a pool of mud! I seriously had so much fun taking part, and it's great for people to just get involved in. The obstacles aren't particularly hard so anyone can get stuck in and give this a go. Plenty of people were also walking to the obstacles so if you're not a runner you don't need to worry.

When I was 16 I used to long for my boobs to just hurry up and grow. I'd buy a bra that was probably 2 sizes too small and that had double extra padding in, so that they were practically touching my chin. I always longed to have a great rack and thought extra padding would be the only way to accomplish it, when in fact all I needed was the perfect fitting bra.

It's so important that you're wearing a comfortable and correctly sized bra. Whether they're big, small, up, down, or pointing east or west; you really need to ensure you're properly fitted. Not only will it keep your boobs in good shape, but you'll ooze of confidence! I can't tell you how much more confident and sassy I felt once I had a bra that fitted correctly.

Starting out in Digital

This week I worked with The start-out and wrote an article about how to get into Digital Marketing. I love how I fell into the Digital world and I feel so lucky to have the job that I do, so I really wanted to share my story to hopefully help other people who want to do the same.

You can view the post here. The start-out is a brilliant platform for anyone looking to start a new career, there are so many fab stories on here so I would really recommend everyone to take a look.

I hope some of you find this useful.. Let me know what you think! :)

Avon's Matte Lipstick

You may or you may not have heard about Avon's new Perfectly Matte Lipstick (if you haven't where have you been?!). The new lippy has had copious amounts of noise due to the fact it's like no other Matte Lipstick. I know I work for Avon HQ so I'm bound to be biased, but honestly if you haven't tried this yet - get yourself one now!

There are 15 (yes, 15!) different shades and all of them are amazing colours - which makes it even harder to decide which one to wear for the day/evening.  I've picked my 4 fave shades below and the pigmentation on these is like no other.

From left to right the colours below are; Au Naturale, Vibrant Melon, Ravishing Rose and Wild Cherry.

Behind the scenes with Avon

Seeing all the posts from London Fashion Week this week got me feeling all like a fashionista, so I decided to celebrate with writing my first fashion post of 2016!

Last year I got chosen to appear in Avon's brochure advertising a new Black Flare Dress. Experiences like this are one of the many reasons why I LOVE working for Avon. Not only do I get to do a fun job and use fab make-up, but I get days out to be pampered and go on a photo-shoot!

I've never done anything quite like this before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The first thing that caught my eye as I walked in to the studio was the massive table full of amazing food for breakfast - Obviously I spent a good part of the morning eating, it would have been rude not to. Once I'd finished scoffing my face the make-up artists and hair stylists starting doing their thing. I think it's definitely safe to say I could get used to have my hair and make-up done everyday.

Turning 27...

So this weekend I turned 27. Yes, 27! I'll be completely honest, I'd been pretty devastated about it for about a week. Before anyone judges me, I know I'm not like dead old, and I don't class myself as feeling or looking old either. It's just the thought of 'shit, where did the last 7 years go'. I remember when I'd just turned 20, and thought the time in my 20's would be the best, and they've just flown by. Yes they have been great years, and I've done a lot that I wanted to do, and have travelled to some amazing places, but there's still so much left to do.

My best friend recently made a '30 things to do before I'm 30' list - and I thought this was a brilliant idea. I think it would make turning 30 slightly less depressing, because at least you'd have accomplished all these goals.

Anyway, now I've turned 27 I'm actually okay. So I'm going to celebrate with some cake and prosecco while playing with all my presents. All my presents this year actually summed me up pretty well; I love the gym, I love to drink and I love anything Mulberry (and of course the chocolates and gift cards are every girls dream). I also got a few more bottles of prosecco (these had already been drank by the time I came to take the picture), and some nice smellies which I'm looking forward to using!

Here's what I got for my birthday this year….

Music for 2016

To me, music makes the world go round. A world without music would be a world without feelings. Whether you're happy, sad, angry, in love, crazy, etc... (the list goes on) there's a song out there for every emotion. Most of the time I feel like we'd rather sit and listen to music than have a conversation with someone (or is that just me?!). I love finding new artists and songs that aren't always in the top 40 charts and don't sound just like every other song out there.

My favourite albums are always the Radio 1 Live Lounge albums, I could just listen to those for days on end. I love the music being stripped back and hearing the words properly.

I'm not going to lie, I have often been one of those people driving along with a song full blast pretending to be in a music video, and I will probably continue to do this until I'm at least 80 years old.

I wanted to share my top 3 gems that I've recently found that have either meant something to me and hit an emotion, or that I just think are amazing songs and feel that everyone should know about them. I love finding new music by people that can actually sing and have raw talent.

So, I know saying 'I do pole dancing' isn't really a thing people usually just drop into conversation, but this post is in fact going to be dedicated to pole dancing.

Half way through 2015 I realised that I needed to tone up, I started going to a few gym classes which were brilliant (Combat & Pump being my faves) but I also wanted to do something really fun. I went round to a friends house one night and she told me she'd started doing pole dancing classes and how much it had toned her up. She asked me a few times if I'd like to go with her, but I turned it down every time she asked. I didn't feel the most confident in swinging from a pole in front of other random strangers. Also, at this point I had no upper body strength whatsoever, so I just thought I'd make myself look like a div.

Anyway, a few months down the line, my friend told me the new beginners classes were starting and so I thought I'd take a look at the pole Facebook group. I saw lots of pictures of these girls hanging upside down, swinging around and most importantly; having a good laugh. I am always up for a good laugh and so I decided to bite the bullet and go to a class, and you know what, I'm so glad I did.

So it's 2016...

2015 was a bit of a funny year. I'm not really sure how to explain it. Probably a massive rollercoster would be the correct term. It had a lot of highs and a lot of lows, but it was a bit odd. I said half way through the year that I wasn't going to do anything that didn't make me happy, but then I ended up doing those things anyway. But then I also got to do a lot of things that did make me happy. Maybe that's just a normal year? We go through these ups and downs to make us into who we are, even if by the end of the year we still haven't figured out who we're supposed to be. Maybe it's okay.

In 2015 I changed my job 3 times (by complete accident) and hated one job but then loved my new one, I lost my creativity and then found my creativity again, I started to cook more and then stopped again, got addicted to exercise but then lost it a bit, and missed several events that I should've been around for. I then finished the year skiing which again was odd because I'm not very good at it.  I also found my old diary from school and it included a lot of detail about a friend that we recently lost, it feels so strange to read things in a diary and remember all these memories about someone who is no longer with us.

I think in 2015 I probably felt a little lost. I'd been looking to move house but couldn't decide where to move to, been looking at holidays but couldn't decide where I wanted to go, and changed jobs but struggled to keep my creativeness. I also absolutely loved blogging in 2014, but this slipped off my radar towards the end of 2015 as my life was just taken over by other things.
