Since I was little I've always loved to see different countries. I used to love finding out about new places and I'm always amazed by other cultures. For one reason or another I've never actually gone travelling and even though I've been saying since I was 18 that I wanted to go, it just never seemed to be the right time or I ended up being put off going. So last year I decided that although I'm not going to go travel the whole world in one go, I am definitely going to visit a lot of places in the next couple of years and get some countries ticked off my list!

Someone recently told me that a friend of theirs is aiming to visit 30 countries by the time they hit 30, which I think it a bloody brilliant idea. So even though I'm only 2 years away from hitting the big 3-0 (eeeek) I'm going to give it my best shot to get as high to 30 countries as I can! I think I worked out the other day that I'm on about 16 at the minute... so not too many to go...

One place that has ALWAYS been on my list has been Australia. The thought of cool surfer chicks, massive waves, hot weather and breathtaking beaches has just always grabbed my attention, as I'm sure it has for most people! I'm SO glad I've managed to tick Australia off my list, it 100% did not disappoint. The beaches are actually insane! I've never seen so many beaches with pools on them; I was told it was in case the sharks came in and people still wanted to swim... but I'm not sure how true that is! I think one of the highlights was actually the people, Australians are probably the friendliest people I have ever come across, everyone's so polite and they always love a good chat (I think the English accent helps)

I stayed in Sydney for the majority of my stay and visited the typical tourist places such as the Opera House & the Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, Shelly Beach, Botanical Gardens and the Sydney Tower. After a weeks touring, I hopped on a plane to Queensland and stayed in a beautiful place called Noosa (which is about 40 minutes from Bisbane) where I visited the gorgeous Noosa Main Beach, and drove along the coast road to Steve Irwins Australian Zoo where I fed Kangeroos and cuddled Koala's! (A memory that I will never forget!)

I would love to go back and visit more places in Australia, especially Melbourne as I've heard it's stunning. I won't lie, the long-ass flight is a killer. The way there wasn't too bad as I managed to sleep quite a bit, but on the way back I couldn't sleep and felt really claustrophobic. It didn't help that we did an 8 hour flight, then got straight back on a plane to do another 13 hours! I think I finally got over  the jetlag about 10 days later!

I've filmed a YouTube video so look out for highlights of Sydney coming up on there, but in the meantime, here's some photos!

Have you been to Australia before? Let me know what you think!
